Instructor: Jess Sutcliffe

Jess, a 200hr yoga teacher has been teaching for six years after studying ballet and working in group fitness and personal training.

She loves students to work hard in my classes but at the same time learn to know when the right times are to work hard, and the right times to pull back according to where your strength and mind are, believing yoga is about getting a complete awareness of the body which then leads to having more awareness of the mind and soul. She encourages people to move out of their comfort zone, to grow and change for the better not only on the mat but in every aspect of their lives.

The saying that gets me out of bed every morning is: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7. Or, “Breakfast is ready!”

My favourite pose/workout is: Handstand. Because it took a long time and hard work to learn. It makes me feel confident, changes my mindset to positive.

My dream revitalisation / retreat would be: A yoga retreat in Mexico or Costa Rica.

The teacher/guru I admire most is: Dr Caroline Leaf, neuroscientist, absolutely amazing and fascinating woman on how the brain/mind works and how this can change your life. In the Yoga world my favourites would be Tiffany Cruikshank, Noah Maze, Jason Crandall, Kathryn Budig.

The booster snack/food/drink that keeps me going is: Almond butter
