Classes

MIND AND BODY TRAININg

Our yoga and Pilates classes are paired with different genres of music to tick off cardio, strength, flexibility, and meditation for a full-body workout and reboot.

CLASS BENEFITS

Heart Health

Yoga poses stretch your muscles and increase your range of motion. It lowers blood pressure and slows the heart rate, which promotes healthy heart function. The twisting poses are known to flush the lymphatic system, wringing out toxins and stimulating gland function.

Strength

Yoga is not a passive exercise. Each pose targets a group of muscles and even the simplest poses done properly tone muscles in the upper and lower body.

Flexibility

Poses held for several breaths create a deep connection to the muscle tissue, encouraging it to relax and stretch. It’s understood that many people notice a 35 percent increase in their flexibility after just eight weeks of regular yoga and Pilates.

Mindset

Yoga and Pilates each have meditative aspects, which promote relaxation, decreased stress levels and improved emotional and mental wellbeing through mindfulness.

CLASS TYPES

Baptiste Power

Baptiste Power Vinyasa (BPV) yoga is a type of hot power yoga. It is focused on asana (poses), meditation, and self-inquiry (finding your why) and is intended to be suitable to any level of physical ability. Baptiste yoga demystifies the yoga practice and makes it more inviting for all levels.

Budokon

An exciting combination of martial arts, calisthenics (bodyweight exercises), yoga poses, and animal movements. [Bu (warrior) -Do (way) – Kon (soul)] can be translated as “the way of the warrior spirit”. The practice offers a full-body workout, combining the martial arts movement with calisthenics, and the playfulness of animal movement, and the fluidity of yoga.

Vinyasa

In our vinyasa yoga classes, people coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. It’s broadly translated as ‘breath-synchronised movement and is a good cardio workout as you move from pose to pose in a continuous sequence. Vinyasa is the broadest term for flow yoga which is the most popular in the western world.

Primal

Primal yoga is a style that seamlessly blends vinyasa yoga (see above) with Kung Fu and Tai Chi into a calming dance to create balance and strength in our physical and emotional bodies.

Rocket Power

A yoga class that will get the heart pumping. The class consists of dynamic and fast-paced power yoga poses for those who want to get there faster. Prepare to sweat! Our Rocket classes are high-tempo and highly motivational.

Pilates

While developing the mind-body connection is at the centre of any yoga practises, Pilates focuses on challenging the body to ‘turn on’ and control muscles and body positioning in unstable positions. Classes consist of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasises proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Our Story

We created True Food & Yoga to make yoga and Pilates accessible to all levels and all ages (including children aged 8 plus) – all to avoid those aches, pains and stresses we develop as we mature. Our studio lets the music and instructor guide the low- and high-tempo workouts to tick off cardio, strength, flexibility, and meditation for a good reboot. Styles of yoga are paired with different genres of music and the whole family is invited, including children.  (read more)
